Candlelight Procession
As daylight fades over Downtown Fayetteville, thousands of candles begin to glow.
The Candlelight Procession is one of A Dickens Holiday’s most beloved traditions — a shared moment when visitors, families, Victorian characters and the downtown community come together by candlelight.
The Candlelight Procession is free and everyone is invited to participate.
Getting Your Candle
Complimentary candles are distributed during A Dickens Holiday so visitors can take part in the evening tradition.
2026 candle pick-up locations and distribution times will be announced as the festival plan is finalized. Locations will also be shown on the Festival Map.
Joining the Procession
As evening approaches, candleholders gather for the lighting ceremony and Candlelight Procession through Downtown Fayetteville.
The 2026 gathering location, procession route and start time will be posted here when finalized.
Dickens After Dark
The lighting of the candles marks a magical transition into Dickens After Dark, when A Dickens Holiday takes on a different glow. Holiday lights, evening entertainment and the Candlelight Procession carry the celebration into the night, culminating in the fireworks finale.
